Three digestive tract endocrine peptides and the circannual cycle of body weight in Spermophilus lateralis

Three digestive tract endocrine peptides and the circannual cycle of body weight in Spermophilus lateralis

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology A: 882: 183-186

Thirty-one male golden-mantled ground squirrels (Spermophilus lateralis) were divided into 4 physiological groups: low weight summer, medium weight summer, high weight summer and hibernation period. A second group of 10 females was divided into 2 groups: hibernation period at low body temperature and hibernation period during a periodic arousal. Blood serum, pancreas and antral stomach region were collected from each.
