Morning milking was found to take significantly longer (P<0.05) than evening milking and high yielding cows required more time at milking than low-yielding cows (P<0.01), regardless of breed type (Jersey X Red Sindhi or Jersey X Haryana). Herd management operations took up more time (52.7%) than milking (47.3%). Cleaning of cows and byre took max. time (35.0%), followed by feeding (10.4%) and veterinary treatment and AI services (7.3%).
