Timing of flowering of marguerite (Chrysanthemum frutescens) grown for winter cut-flower production using the photoperiod

A light treatment of 40 watts/msuperscript 2 for 19 h/day from 1 to 30 November 1981 gave earlier, increased flower production of cultivars Stradina and Imperia Gialla, especially in January and February 1982. In a second trial with the same light treatment but from 10 to 30 November or from 1 to 21 December 1983, the November treatment gave earlier, increased flower production in January and February and the December treatment increased flower production in February and March 1984.
