Tissue culture of rape

Tissue culture of rape

Dissertation Abstracts International, C European Abstracts 47(3): 606

Of 5 growth regulators studied, 10-6 M 2,4-D was the most effective in inducing and supporting callus on oilseed rape hypocotyls. Indole-3-acetate-amine was more effective than IAA-phenylalanine for promoting callus growth. Regeneration of plants from callus was obtained once on a medium containing 10-5 M zeatin and 10-7 M IAA. IAA-alanine totally inhibited organogenesis. Protoplasts of rape regenerated cell walls in a defined medium; limited cell division was observed, but no callus formed.
