Tobacco necrosis virus - its properties, occurrence and spread

Tobacco necrosis virus - its properties, occurrence and spread

Vaxtskyddsnotiser 50(4-5): 136-141

This review describes some of the physical and serological characters of this frequent soil-borne virus, its connexion with satellite virus, its wide host range (only the roots are infected in most cases), transmission by zoospores of Olpidium brassicae (different fungal isolates differ in their ability to adhere to and transmit the virus), and local spread by soil and drainage water, and over longer distances by rivers receiving drainage and sewage water.
