Triple test cross analysis for seed and oil yield and its components in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern & Coss.)

Using crosses of Varuna with TM9 and RM75-80-1, 60 triple test cross families were developed in each cross by crossing 20 F2 plants as males to the parents and F1s. In Varuna X TM9, additive genetic variance appeared to be predominant for days to maturity, number of primary branches and oil yield, while dominance seemed to be mainly involved in the control of seed yield/plant and oil content.
