A dynamic model for estimating water evaporation from homogeneous bare soil

In this study, a dynamic soil water evaporation model for estimating the daily water evaporation rate from bare soil exposed to natural weather was used and tested under field conditions. The model proved to be sensitive to criteria for calculating soil water diffusibility. For long dry periods the model, together with criteria established by HANKS and BOWERS, demonstrably overestimated the evaopration rate. Generally speaking, the dynamic model, with the adoption of PLOEG and BENECKE criteria for calculating soil water diffusibility, is adequate for the soil layers studied.
