A method of preparing Diphyllobothrium surface antigens

, : A method of preparing Diphyllobothrium surface antigens. Meditsinskaya Parazitologiya i Parazitarnye Bolezni (5): 51-55

The preparation of surface antigens of Diphyllobothrium dendriticum, D. ditremum and D. latum, is described. 3 extracts were prepared. Extracts 1 and 2 (E I and E II respectively) of all 3 species using beta -mercaptoethalamine (MEA) contained significantly more protein than E III. When 2-mercaptoethanol (ME) was used instead of MEA, the protein contents were slightly (insignificantly) smaller in E II than E I, and E III contained the least protein.
