A note on floral biology of Solanum mammosum L

A note on floral biology of Solanum mammosum L

Indian Journal of Forestry 11(3): 210-214

A study of the floral biology of this solasodine-yielding exotic species revealed the presence of three types of style, 12-15, 5, and 1 mm in length. Floral development after bud emergence took 26 days. The first fully-opened flower appeared 120 days after sowing. Anthesis and anther dehiscence occurred between 0500 and 1000 hours and the flowers opened fully just before anther dehiscence.
