A note on the possibility of getting two crops of grapes in a year under sub-tropical conditions

A note on the possibility of getting two crops of grapes in a year under sub-tropical conditions

Haryana Journal of Horticultural Sciences 18(3-4): 242-243

In western India, vines pruned severely in March after the spring harvest produce new growth which bears in Oct. The vines are then pruned lightly and they produce the main crop in the following Mar. The 2 advantages of the autumn crop are a higher market price (3-4 times greater than for the main crop) and the fact that the crop can be retained on the vine for a longer period than the main crop (in Mar.) without quality deterioration.
