A novel potency test for inactivated canine parvovirus vaccine using rats

A novel potency test for inactivated canine parvovirus vaccine using rats

Annual Report of the National Veterinary Assay Laboratory (26): 23-27

In the current potency test on inactivated canine parvovirus vaccine on guineapigs a mean HI titre of over 128 should occur one week after a booster injection given three weeks after the initial vaccination. To reduce the time taken for this test (more than four weeks), the HI antibody responses of hamsters, rabbits, mice and rats were compared to that of guineapigs.
