A perspective of development of hill agriculture in Uttar Pradesh

This paper is based on the findings of a study conducted in Tehri District of Garhwal Himalaya, Uttar Pradesh, in 1984/85 with the main aims of investigating the current situation of the agricultural economy in the Uttar Pradesh hills area, identifying major problems, and seeking suitable solutions. Of the 14 cultivators selected from villages at three altitudinal ranges, 6 farmed in the valleys, 6 in the mid hills and 2 in the high hills.
