A possible methodology to justify and evaluate production incentives for private forests in the EEC

Multipurpose agriculture and forestry Proceedings of the 11th seminar of the European Association of Agricultural Economists EAAE 28 April 3 May 1986: 501-510

A methodology used to evaluate forestry incentives programmes in the USA and based on established welfare theory and practices is briefly outlined with complete reference to the original studies and publications, and an example. A discussion of the possible application of this method is offered for the peculiar conditions encountered in the EC and Europe. It is concluded that the approach can be followed with slight changes.
