A possible role for the amphids of potato cyst nematode Globodera rostochiensis in host finding

Invasion of potato roots by juveniles of G. rostochiensis (Ro1) was decreased by about 97% when the nematodes were treated with 1% sodium hypochlorite. This was possibly due to degradation of the amphidial exudate and subsequent damage to the exposed sensory apparatus.
