A preliminary investigation of a photosensitive nuclear male-sterile rice

Stock seed of a photosensitive nuclear male-sterile line of japonica rice discovered originally in Hubei was sown in the field and greenhouse at the Crop Research Institute of Ningxia Academy of Agro-Forestry Sciences in 1987, and 21 observations were made from 23 April to 18 April of the following year. All the field-grown plants failed to reach maturity.
