A serological study on virions from the cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (CPV) of pine moth Dendrolimus spectabilis Butler

A serological study on virions from the cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (CPV) of pine moth Dendrolimus spectabilis Butler

Scientia Silvae Sinicae 23(2): 227-231

Experiments proved that Dendrolimus spectabilis (a pest of pine , D. tabulaeformis, D. punctatus, Heliothis armigera and Bombyx mori could be infected with D. spectabilis cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (CPV) introduced from Japan. All pine moth (Dendrolimus) CPVs, whether of Chinese or Japanese origin, were serologically indistinguishable by the methods described. Antiserum of pine moth CPV virions did not cross-react with 3 NPVs and a GV.
