As part of a joint UK Forestry Commission-Health and Safety Executive project investigating the vibration of chain saws, an assessment is being made of the level of exposure to vibration of chain saw operators for 2 types of chain saw work in the UK Forestry Commission: shortwood working and felling for subsequent mechanical processing. These operations involve high levels of regular exposure to chain saw vibration.
