Phaseolus vulgaris Totola and Coscorron were divided into <11, 11-14 and >14 mm size classes and stored for 1 year at 18 degrees C and 10% seed RH. Small seeds accounted for 7% of the seeds of both cultivars. Water absorption declined from 100 to 74% and 86 to 56% after 6 months' storage in Coscorron and Tortola, resp. Av. hardness was 1.3 and 4.8 kg/cmsuperscript 2 in large and small seeds, resp.
