The adjustment of EC support prices to discourage production, ceilings on guaranteed prices, limits on market intervention and a new liberalism as regards the CAP are phenomena now evident after 20 years of interventionist policies. This new environment requires strategy formulation by farmers, processors and marketing channels. The reorientation of market regulations is considered with respect to the future of French agriculture.
