This paper discusses: (1) the likely thrust of agricultural strategy in Asian countries in the 1990s; (2) the role of policy reforms in implementing that strategy; and (3) areas of input and output price policy reforms. Two areas of agricultural price policy reform are analysed: stabilization of prices and changing the relative price structure.
