The book is the product of a conference held at the Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Karl-Marx University, Leipzig, GDR, 27 June-1 July 1988, that sought to review developing countries' agricultural project experience within the broad policy objective of achieving an efficient agriculture. The main focus is on the problems of designing and implementing agricultural projects and their possible impact. Various country papers were presented covering a wide range of specific country experiences.
