Agroforestry approaches to increase production through forest stand improvement in Philippine production forests

Appropriate stand improvement techniques are discussed for application to Philippine dipterocarp forests damaged by logging. The types of logging damage found in such stands and the characteristics of the stands are briefly described. The operational phases planned by the Forest Research Institute (for implementation in 1987) are direct stand improvement (or restructuring) and enrichment planting.
