Allelopathic effect of common weeds on soybean growth and soybean-Bradyrhizobium symbiosis

Allelopathic effect of common weeds on soybean growth and soybean-Bradyrhizobium symbiosis

Plant and Soil 112(2): 177-182

ISSN/ISBN: 0032-079X

DOI: 10.1007/bf02139993

Soyabean Essex seedlings were inoculated with Bradyrhizobium japonicum and grown for 25 days in N-free nutrient solution amended with water extracts made from shoots of different species (at 1 or 2% levels) or grown in soil mixed with weed plant residues. (at 0.5 or 1% levels). The effects on soyabean germination, shoot and root growth and nodulation were investigated.
