Eighteen 2-tert-butyl-benzazole derivatives were evaluated as macrofilaricidal agents against L. carinii, D. viteae, B. malayi and B. pahangi. In M. natalensis, upon oral treatment once daily for 5 consecutive days the 8 benzoxazole derivatives were invariably less potent than the corresponding benzothiazole derivatives.
