Arthropods associated with the cotton crop in Chad: pests, predators and parasitoids

Coton et Fibres Tropicales 44(4): 275-290

The species of harmful and beneficial arthropods (insects, mites and Diplopoda) found on cotton crops in Chad between 1984 and 1987 are listed. A total of 51 species and 24 genera was recorded from the country for the first time. The main pests of the fruiting organs were Helicoverpa armigera, Diparopsis watersi and Earias biplaga; Syllepte derogata was the most important leaf-eating pest, and the main sucking pests were Aphis gossypii and Bemisia tabaci.
