Attempted experimental infection of the preputial cavity of three male goats with Campylobacter species

Veterinary Record 123(22): 568-568

Two crossbred goats aged 3 years and one Angora goat aged one year with campylobacter-negative preputial lavage samples were used in the experiment. The goats were inoculated intrapreputially with 109-1011 organisms of C. fetus subspecies venerealis. Twelve different bovine field isolates of the species were used, each goat receiving an inoculum containing 4 of the isolates.
