In type-testing, carry-over quotas below 1% were established for new samplers suited for bacteriological sampling. Under field conditions, however, carry-over quotas are usually higher because in most cases the inlet hose is considerably longer than 3 m. The carry-over quotas below 1%, measured with the new automatic samplers, are capable of determining the bacterial count of the milk sample with sufficient accuracy.
