Breeding value of early oat varieties in the northern Zaural'e

In selecting material for breeding early high-yielding varieties for the Zaural'e area of Siberia (just east of the central Urals), 378 relatively early varieties were studied during 1985-86. Some varieties equalled the standard, Taezhnik, in yield.
