In 1982-86 effects of application of the optimum NPK rate for each crop and/or 2 peat rates on yields and quality of 4 vegetable crops and potatoes grown on a slightly leached chernozem soil were studied. NPK alone and with peat gave the highest yields in all crops. Peat alone gave lower yield increases.
