Abstract
The total alkaloid content of the wild species T. buschianum and the cultivated species T. collinum was greater during 3 growing seasons in the underground than in the aerial parts. In the aerial parts only tertiary bases were found whereas both tertiary and quaternary bases were present in the underground parts. Data on changes in the alkaloid content of both species during the vegetative, budding, flowering and fruiting stages of development are tabulated and discussed.
