Characteristics of separate elements of spring wheat production process as indices of induced increase in its heat resistance

In spring wheat seedlings subjected to a stepwise increase in temp. for various durations, the adaptive increase in heat resistance was accompanied by an increase in growth, thermostability, DM accumulation, respiratory capacity and photosynthesis. The rate of DM accumulation and gross photosynthesis were the most representative indices of the degree of heat damage and level of plant resistance to high temp.
