Comparison of sprinkler uniformity models using a single lateral line sprinkler



Agricultural engineering Proceedings of the 11th international congress on agricultural engineering: 673-677



Linear regression, normal and log-normal statistical distribution models were fitted to overlapped sprinkler patterns obtained from a single sprinkler line. The root mean square (RMS) error of each distribution was calculated from the observed water distribution and used as a measure for comparison. It was concluded the the linear model fitted the water application depths better than the normal or log-normal models for all values of uniformity coeff.
