Comparison of the plant habit of pot roses propagated in vitro and by cuttings

Comparison of the plant habit of pot roses propagated in vitro and by cuttings

Acta Horticulturae 226: 611-613

ISSN/ISBN: 0567-7572

Current rose cultivars are usually too tall, too upright, branch too little and lack clustering. Within the scope of a breeding programme, it was investigated whether plant habit might be favourably modified by in vitro propagation. The plant habit, growth and development of 36 dwarf cultivars propagated in vitro and by cuttings were compared.
