Cultivated flora of Africa and centres of its origin

Cultivated flora of Africa and centres of its origin

Sbornik Nauchnykh Trudov po Prikladnoi Botanike, Genetike i Selektsii 126: 62-71

The results are outlined of Soviet expeditions to west and central Africa (14 countries) during 1966-86 to study and collect species of wild and cultivated flora. In all, 339 endemic species were found for the regions studied. Some are named and their breeding value is indicated. Over 8000 forms were collected, of which 427 were wild species or wild relatives of crop plants.
