Cultivation of flowering plants for solution culture

Cultivation of flowering plants for solution culture

Deutscher Gartenbau 41(9): 526-530

Several gesneriaceous species and cultivars were propagated by cuttings rooted in 2-4 mm Lecaton or Perlite G in trays or 5-cm multipot trays. The plantlets were then transplanted to Leni MK 11/12 pots designed for solution culture containing 4-8 mm or 8-16 mm Lecaton and kept at 20-24 degrees C air and substrate temperatures. The pots were stood in constantly circulating nutrient solutions with depths of 2, 4 or 6 cm.
