Cultivation of gall bladder stones in live cattle

Cultivation of gall bladder stones in live cattle

Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine 21(5): 217-218

Natural gall bladder stones of cattle (Niu Huang) are rare and precious ingredients for traditional Chinese medicinal tablets. In a trial on artificial culture of gall bladder stones in 377 local cattle by seeding in the gall bladder a hollow dernel and inoculating the Niu Huang Organism through surgical operation for 3-24 months, 6.06 g of Niu Huang was produced per animal in 12 months on average.
