Cultivation of spray carnations without pinching. II. Influences of cold storage duration for cuttings, supplementary lighting and planting density on growth and flowering

Long-term cold storage (> 60 days) of cuttings advanced flowering of both early- and late-flowering cultivars, but with the early cultivars, the cut flowers were of poor quality. Long-day treatments for 4, 7 or 10 weeks after planting also accelerated flower production regardless of the source of the cuttings or the number of nodes/cutting.
