Cultivation system with 50 cm row width of sugarbeet

This paper was presented at the 27th Research Meeting of Sugar Beet Technological Cooperation held at Sapporo, Japan, on 23-24 July 1987. A ridging system producing 3 rows of 50 cm width for sugarbeet and 6 rows of 75 cm width for potatoes was developed by expanding tractor tread widths from 1320 to 1500 mm. The narrow rows resulting from this system improved quality and stabilized yield of sugarbeet.
