Cultivation techniques for deep placement of fertilizer for paddy rice cultivar Koshihikari. 1. Influence on growth and yield

Cultivation techniques for deep placement of fertilizer for paddy rice cultivar Koshihikari. 1. Influence on growth and yield

Report of the Tohoku Branch, Crop Science Society of Japan (31): 60-61

In field trials in 1986-87, rice Koshihikari was grown following deep or shallow cultivation with 40 kg basal N fertilizer/ha and 20 kg/ha sidedressed at the young plant stage and again after ear emergence or with 20 kg basal N and 40 or 60 kg placed 12-15 cm deep. Grain yields were 5.45 t/ha with shallow cultivation and basal and sidedressed fertilizer, 5.34 t with deep cultivation and basal and sidedressed fertilizer, 5.68 t with 40 kg deep placed N/ha and 5.76 t with 60 kg deep placed N/ha.
