Cultural and chemical control of taro beetle (Papuana uninodis)

Three cultural measures and one insecticidal treatment were tested in the field in the Solomon Islands against Papuana uninodis on taro. Applying chlorpyrifos at each planting point in slow-release granules at 4 kg a.i./ha did not give significant control. Cover crops were competitive with taro and led to reduced corm size.
