The characteristics of the growth and morphology of the mycelium of the wood-destroying fungus K. mutabilis were studied. The variations in growth characteristics between different strains are described. Zonal growth defines the general morphology of the colonies. Short, large, sharply curved, mostly single clamps were observed on the hyphae of the fungus.
