Cultural change and tourism demand in Italy: from the post-war period to 1986

Cultural change and tourism demand in Italy: from the post-war period to 1986

Publication, CESDIT, Centro per gli Studi sui Servizi Distribuzione e Turismo, Italy (6): 17-40

Taking a viewpoint concerned only with tourism as a sociocultural activity, this paper proposes an hypothesis for an interpretative model for Italian tourism using research data and bibliographical analysis. Strong correlations exist between increasing family incomes and tourism, with a high propensity to increase holiday time in the same or the next year as income rises.
