Cultural techniques and productivity of buckwheat sown in spring

In field trials in 1989 at Suwon, Korea Republic, buckwheat Shinnong 1 was sown on 20 Apr. at 40, 60 or 80 kg seed/ha by broadcasting or in rows 20 or 60 cm apart, with or without polyethylene film mulch. 80 kg seed/ha at 20 cm row spacing with film mulch gave the highest seed yield of 3.04 t/ha compared with 1.62 t/ha with 40 kg seed/ha broadcast without mulch.
