Culture conditions for shoot tip culture of sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam

Culture conditions for shoot tip culture of sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam

Proceedings of Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu Tokai University 8: 9-14

Meristem tips were cultured on MS medium supplemented with various growth regulators. Best results were obtained with the variety Kokei 14 on medium containing 2 mg NAA and 1 mg benzyladenine (BA) or 0.2 mg NAA and 2 mg BA/litre. Plantlets developed within 90 days. The variety Koganesengan was cultured on MS medium containing 0.2 mg NAA and 1 mg BA/litre.
