Culture of Salix species in vitro

Culture of Salix species in vitro

Rapport, Avdelningen for Energiskogsodling, Institutionen for Ekologi och Miljovard, Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet (36): 26

Clones of S. caprea, S. viminalis, S. smithiana, S. viminalis X S. purpurea and S. aquatica were propagated in vitro from vegetative axillary buds. Removing the bud scales increased the success of surface sterilization and stimulated bud development. Addition of 0.44 micro M benzyladenine to the basal media stimulated bud break and shoot proliferation, but suppressed shoot elongation and rooting.
