Culture of hop tissues and study of their content of bitter substances

Callus tissue produced from stems and cones of the variety Sil'nyi were cultured on modified MS medium. Callus cultured in light grew better than that cultured in the dark. The best growth increment was achieved at pH 5.8-6.4. The various cultures differed in growth activity. The rate of biomass accumulation was higher in cone-derived than stem- derived callus.
