Culture of maize protoplast from suspension cells and plantlet regeneration



Genetic Manipulation in Crops Newsletter 4(2): 17-21



Techniques of regenerating plants from cell suspension cultures were investigated. A study on the effects of the osmolarity of the enzyme solution used to isolate the protoplasts showed that 0.5 M glucose was the most effective osmoticum. Plating efficiency was highest in agarose gel.
