Culturing callus tissue for the multiplication of barley-wheat hybrids

Culturing callus tissue for the multiplication of barley-wheat hybrids

Izvestiya Sibirskogo Otdeleniya Akademii Nauk SSSR Seriya Biologicheskikh Nauk ( 1): 27-32

Eleven plants from 4 crosses of the type Hordeum vulgare X Triticum aestivum and one plant from the cross H. geniculatum X T. aestivum Pyrothrix 28 were multiplied by culturing callus initiated from young inflorescences on Gamborg B5 medium with 2,4-D. Plantlets were regenerated on B5 medium with kinetin and 2,4-D. The plants obtained differed in female fertility; grain was set following backcrossing to bread wheat.
