Current and future studies on biotechnology and genetic engineering



Analele Institutului de Cercetari pentru Cereale si Plante Tehnice, Fundulea 55: 27-38



The main results achieved to date at the Fundulea Institute, and published in detail elsewhere, are summarized. Plantlet regeneration via cell and tissue culture was achieved in many cereal, industrial and forage crops. Anther culture techniques produced 16 homozygous rice lines which have been incorporated in the breeding programme. In vitro multiplication was applied to 201 genotypes of Lolium multiflorum.
