Current aspects of the mineralogy of clays and soils

Current aspects of the mineralogy of clays and soils

Methodology in soil K research Proceedings of the 20th Colloquium, International Potash Institute, held in Baden bei Wien, Austria, 1987: 11-43

The standard method for characterising separated soil minerals is reviewed. Despite recent improvements in the study of structure and polycrystallinity, this has its limitations. Current problems are discussed under: Mineralogical characterisation of undisturbed soil samples in the dry state: optical and electron microscopy in association with X-ray diffraction and electron probe microanalysis.
